home page image for next sale date Sept 30 2018Our Social Fabric (OSF) is a textile recycling initiative that has been in operation since 2009. OSF receives donations of textiles, fabric and sewing related supplies from the film industry, theatre, manufacturing, estate closures together with home sewers and artists. Our team of volunteers sort through the donations and offer them back to the community at drastically reduced prices. Our goal is to keep textiles out of the landfill and into the hands of creatives in our community.

What’s Happening at OSFpic_kids eco art camp
On Thursday, July 28th, we welcomed a group of kids to OSF who were participating in an “Eco Arts Camp” from North Vancouver. One of our Directors led a 3 hour session with the kids giving a presentation on textile waste and recycling and then led two art projects using OSF fabrics and notions (and of course, zippers!). Check out the picture of those happy faces with their leaf-print  aprons and zipper art piece.
